September’s theme is facing up to failure. It’s never easy to speak out of turn, and when we raise the temperature in any organisation we know that it’s going to be personalised. We inevitably become a target to some extent.

Opening of a new exhibition in Sri Lanka

I was excited this month to help open ‘Framing the past, untying the future’, in Colombo. The exhibition comprised wide-ranging reflections on politics and armed violence from Sri Lankan and foreign artists, set together to let some common themes emerge.
